The Power of Positive Thought

I love this poem, I first heard it when I was 10 and have faithfully remembered the first part for the last 20 years... I never realised there was more to it than just the first verse so was thrilled to find the rest!

It's by Walter D Wintle, and I think the original title was "The man who thinks he can", but it's been somewhat adapted over the years ;-)

Here you go:

If you think you're beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't;
it's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
for out in this world we find,
success begins with a fellow's will -
it's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself
before you can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
to the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later the one who wins
is the ONE WHO THINKS THEY CAN!
